If my business hit rock bottom, customers stopped calling, leads dried up, and sales plummeted, and I had to rebuild from scratch with zero budget.
Here's exactly what I'd do, step by step.
I've been there myself, and I've helped hundreds of small businesses climb back up by mastering Google rankings.
With regular reviews like this...
Today, I'll reveal the lesser-known strategies that can transform your business overnight.
Forget the outdated marketing tactics—what I'm about to show you is different. It's not about paying for ads, creating multiple business profiles, or stuffing spammy keywords into your name and website.
In this article, I'll walk you through the four crucial steps to get qualified leads and customers fast.
What you really need is these 4 steps.
Step 1 - Register Your Busienss On Google Maps
The first tip came to me when I was wasting money on ads, trying to get clients. A friend asked, 'Why are you paying for ads? (see this video if you want to save money on ads) when you can get 10X more traffic for free, and it’s quality leads?'
He then explained how his business on Google Maps was bringing in a ton of traffic.
I was shocked. I thought Google Maps was no different from sites like Checkatrade, Yell, or other business directories where my listings just sat there, not doing much. Maybe yours is the same.
So, let's assume you've already registered your business. If not, don’t worry—I’ll drop a link in the description on how to do it the right way and its only a 4 minute video...
Now, let’s dive into optimizing your free Google Business Profile (GBP) to skyrocket your traffic.
Step 2 - Optimising Your Business For Local Traffic
But the next stage is what my friend was talking about. A few years ago, ranking number 1 in your business category with a Google Business Profile wasn’t too hard. These days, you need a few things optimized and a clear understanding of how Google ranks businesses.
Subscribe to my channel, and you’ll get the latest tips to keep your business at the top of local rankings.
To rank number 1, you need to optimize your profile well. This means having accurate hours, adding your own photos, gaining loads of genuine reviews, and ensuring your posts and details genuinely represent your business. It sounds simple, but many people get suspended for not doing this and wonder why they can't be seen on Google Search and Maps.
You also need to maintain this by checking the suggestion cards Google gives you when you log in. I’ve made a video that goes into these cards and how to handle each one—check it out here.
Now, let’s look at step 3 which if often overlooked.
Step 3 - Think as a customer not an algorithm
You have to stop thinking you’re the best and start giving your customers a reason to think you’re the best. When you do this, reviews will naturally flow in with powerful keywords. Your services and customer focus will truly make a difference.
It’s all about thinking like a customer, not as a business owner. For example, if your customers visit your site on their mobile devices, have you made your website fast-loading and mobile-friendly? When was the last time you accessed it as a customer? Do you have clear contact details on your website? How approachable do you and your team look? Remember, people buy from people.
Do you answer all potential buyers' questions with FAQs and Q&As? By thinking like a customer, you’ll attract customers faster than your competitors who focus solely on how great they are or how to manipulate keywords for search engines.
By focusing on customers and real people, not algorithms, you’ll quickly rise to number 1 and drive huge traffic.
Now, let’s look at step 4 which if where it gets a little deep.
Step 4 - E-E-A-T
The fourth way is one I’ve spoken about on my channel before, and I know many of my members are familiar with it. Again it’s related to being human.
Even Google uses real people to check this, but very few business owners realize it. Google visits your business profile, website, and third-party mentions of your brand, and they rate your business on at least four basic human areas.
To simplify, I often refer to it as E-E-A-T. Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness.
Google raters check to see how trustworthy your business is and whether you’re considered an authority and expert in your category. There are many ways to show Google you have the needed experience and deserve a boost in ranking by meeting the E-E-A-T criteria.
Step 4 is so crucial that it deserves its own spotlight. In this video, I'll dive deep into why this step is a game-changer—it's like an algorithm within an algorithm, almost like a digital Tamagotchi you need to nurture.
You don't want to miss this! We'll cover everything you need to know about E-E-A-T to accelerate your business growth for sustained, long-term success.
That's it for today.
