Why You Need A Website Audit
With web design changing every year, a website can soon look dated or even stop working. Why would a website stop working? Not necessarily due to anything failing on the website. It can sometimes be down to users accessing using new technology. 10 years ago Chrome Browsers on Mobiles weren’t invented. Now its a very popular choice.
Older websites don’t stand a chance on mobiles and new browsers. So having a website critique can only be a positive thing for your business.

Website Audit : 5 Required Improvements
- Email: There was a need to use a professional email using the domain name rather than a Gmail email account.
- Blog: The blog had just one post in it. Unless its regularly updated, its counter productive. It would be a great area to add more news and events which may help pickup local clients from Dorset and London. Also there seemed to be a rogue web address? www.https://thetutorsnetwork.com/blog/ask-away
- Footer: Copyright ideally should be updated. It implies the website hasn’t had any updates since 2015, which ideally isn’t a good message in 2019.
- Page Speed: Checking the Page Speed using out tool https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/ – When I checked again the first meaningful paint was 4 seconds. This is definitely worth looking into. Possibly adding a caching plugin or looking at upgrading the server would be 2 areas to help improve this. Also the video and images may be taking time to load so they can be turned off to increase mobile loading speed. The score was Mobile 22 and Desktop 50. Ideally aim for as close to green as you can when using this tool.
- SEO Audit. I just notice some minor issues. The pages for the site are a little short on text. It the text that helps drive traffic to the website. Additionally there were some duplicate meta descriptions on the book-online page and the home page. Google like all pages to be unique if at all possible.
