Are the two (Google My Business & Google Ads) able to be separated from each other?
Are we able to separate the two? Yes, I believe we can as it currently stands. It looks like it is possible to delete a location on Google My Business without it affecting your Ads or your AdWords account.

So let’s now take this next question. Is unlinking or dividing your Ads away from your Google My Business account possible. Why would you want to do that? Quite a few people have contacted me recently saying that they wanted to delete their Google My Business location but they are worried that it would delete their Ads or their AdWords that are already connected to their account.
Is it possible to delete a location on Google My Business without it affecting your Ads or your AdWords account?
Yes again from my experience it appears to be possible. This goes back to what we discovered earlier. The two tools are separate. Turning off your ads on Google My Business just takes you through to your ads account. Because you are already logged in to both it may feel like the two are the same.
Maybe one of the reasons for doing this, is you want to delete one of your locations on Google My Business and one of your Ads is connected with it. Yet you don’t want that add deleted.
If you click on manage your ads in Google My Business, you notice it now goes into your Ad account You will see if It says it’s active and if you click on the details of the account you’ll see it visits the shop front.
Pause, Cancel or Delete A Google My Business Ad
Now you have a choice. Pause , Cancel or delete it. If you pause it, then that’s it. Potentially you could even delete the whole thing.

if you now go to your accounts, then if you delete the location, the ad just won’t be connected to anything at all and potentially you can remove the campaign altogether. So click remove campaign to completely end the ad. Then the ad doesn’t exist any longer. It will say removed.

If you go to your Google My Business account and refresh it, you’ll see it will say you will need to get your Ad back on Google. This is because all the previous connections are now deleted.
So from this I would conclude whatever you do with Google My Business eg. delete an account or location, It won’t affect the established accounts you already have
So just view the two as separate even though they are connected and hopefully that helps you to know how to delete your location on Google My Business and not be overly concerned. Having said that, that’s my discovery if you find different then do let me know and I’ll update the website.
