One of the biggest mistakes business owners make is not registering GMB business Or if it’s registered not claiming it. I wrote an article here on How to claim your business on google maps . This should get you up and running in no time.
The 2nd biggest GMB SEO mistake is not being aware that Google My Business and Google Maps will update your business without letting you know! I know!. Well, they let you know via a red dot and amber text. But if you don’t check you would never know there is something wrong. It’s often updated and changed by Google and local guides (more on that soon)
The video above showed you how this works. But as you would of noticed it can be a good thing. A really helpful way to give your business a needed boost in the search results
To illustrate the situation. If you go to the doctor with a red dot or two you expect bad news. this isn’t the case though with Google My Business red dots. As long as you act quickly it’s going to give a positive measurement back to the algorithm which s good news. Ah but leave it too long and it’s going to be a bigger pain. Actually, that is quite similar to the Doctor illustration

Mismatches can hurt your rank. Verify holiday hours accordingly. Also, make sure your information is consistent with other listings across the web.
If you visit your Google My Business weekly, make a new post, reply to reviews (ideally the day they happen), and review any pending edits (and accept to reject). This will keep your business presence fresh and healthy.
