Why Google Map Tips Help Save Costs
Google Maps has several features to help businesses. These options have been available for a while, yet most of the users don’t know about them. With free tools, it’s often just about someone showing you how to use it. Additionally all these tips can be used on your mobile as well as your desktop. So when you are out and about on a business trip try out one of these tips.
Timeline Feature
A window Cleaner or repair service may need to fill out a timesheet, but a busy week doesn’t give you the opportunity to know exactly where you were and at what time. No problem with Google Maps timeline feature
The thing that I find most useful about maps is the timeline feature. I have to fill out a time sheet for work and list all the different jobs that I worked on for the week and sometimes I might go to two or three sites within a day and it helps me to not only remember exactly where I was but the exact times that I got there my travel time, and everything. Some of the other guys struggle at this and for me, this just makes it really simple
Google Maps Labels
Did you know you can get repeat business with labels
Get visitors to your business to add your address as a label. Why would you do that? Well, it will make repeat business a whole lot easier. For example say you run a beautician salon. Why not ask your customers to add your salon business on their mobile phone labels. It’s just a click on Google Maps. In that way, it makes it easier for you and others to get directions on Google maps and guess who they will go to next time they ant a beautician.
Best business time to call
Businesses are more likely than ever to need to call outside your time zone as the communication devices make the globe a smaller place.
If you’re trying to make contact with someone else around the world say for work and you don’t want to interrupt their sleep or something that could be a challenge. So try this Google Maps Trick. If you go to the place in the country you want to talk to and you go to the actual name of the town or village and click on it. The map now shows the temperature, weather conditions and the time of day there so you know if it’s a suitable time to contact them.
Share event in Google calendar
It’s great when Google tools talk to each other. So for our next tip, I will show you how Google Calendar and Google Maps can work together hand in hand.
This clever integration between Google calendar and Google maps works particularly if you try to organise an event. If you have a few venues on your maps already you can just call them up quite quickly in Google Calendar,
On any calendar event, you can now add several other details including, conferencing information and map location. Do you know how to add a location? If you click on the right-hand side of the calendar there is a maps icon. Here you can find the location you want. You can take a copy of their address and then press save.
Now all those invited to the event have got the location, but they can click on that link and it will then take them straight to the map and then they can then send the directions to their mobile and get to the exact place that they want to from wherever they’re coming. You can do it on mobiles too through the Google Calendars app in exactly the same way. So next time you’re out and about on a business trip get your mobile out and remember some of these tricks.

Street view in Google Maps history
if you have an insurance claim or want to prove a fault of a road pothole, then I reckon you probably haven’t considered this solution. These historical pictures have been presented as evidence in the past in court! There was a case I mention in the video above where a few years ago on a road in England, this was needed.
But this also can serve as a great feature for moving or relocating a business. So you are thinking of opening a business in a new county, town or state. How do you know it’s an up and coming area? Street view history. Or if you want to buy a shop in an area, you can see what was there previously. Have shops with a similar business been forced to close down from a lack of support? This is a great research tool as it reveals at least the past decade.
The feature is only available in a web browser. You can go to Maps and use the web browser in the mobile version of Chrome but you would need to avoid using the app
Meeting someone using Google Maps
You can use the location share for a meet up on mobiles and desktops. So what happens if you need to meet someone somewhere in particular and you just want to get them to find where you are as quickly as possible? Well, it’s now pretty straightforward.
On a mobile you can just tap the area you are and then there it says you can share a place. Click that and it just literally sends it via whatever your phone uses. So you can share that location using social media such as Twitter, Facebook, email or WhatsApp. Of course, send it via text and the same can be done pretty much through the desktop too
Distance for a delivery service
How often you wonder what the mileage was after a journey. Welcome to the wonderful tip of measure distance on Google Maps. Sometimes you need to claim mileage through the business. Yet you picked up a colleague on the way through. It’s now quite difficult to estimate the distance. Use this quick distance measurement tool and you will be fine. Or for businesses that look at areas such as a roofer. This could be perfect or a flat roof quote. Or landscape gardeners for the area, lawn cutting on a field.
